While I have heard of some who do not like this narrator's voice, I think he is very understandable with a good pace and good clarity. I give this a 5! So glad to have finally found a way to listen to a good quality, non-dramatized bible recording on my Iphone while I'm driving! The sound is clear and professional and the speaker does a very good job at delivering the narration that makes it easy to follow along and understand. I've also spent a long time looking for a narration that is divided by book and chapter, because it's just an unneeded hassle to have to scan through a large hunk of audio just to find the right chapter you want to hear.

The file size of the entire book has been daunting, particularly downloading one file at a time. I avoided an available App for my iPhone, which might have helped, but the negative reviews about its quality made me decide to avoid it. I can speed it up to 3X the speed, and when reading along with my Bible, helps lock things without compromising the speed audio often is slower than my eyes. Can't recommend this product enough! I like everthing about this product except that in the store the description was for the ESV Bible edition, which I read. Whereas the audio introduction says it is the edition of the ESV. This left me wondering wondering what it is that I have. Clear and Easy to Understand Version.
Just what I wanted. Had problems with it on my iPhone and iPad. Uninstalled it and now use youVersion audio Bible, which is free. Clear, non distracting audio of the well-translated English Standard Version of God's Holy scriptures.
Personal favorite. In terms of increasing biblical knowledge this is essential. This is a balanced reading of the Scripture. It really helps to focus on the text, without the reader causing any distractions. Absolute bargain. The whole bible read clearly and at the right pace. Hope it sounds good on ipod, like it does on computer. I love this Audio Bible. But how to get to Psalm ? You have to play Psalms and then skip tracks, since every chapter has a marker. There is no way to navigate through the books or chapters other than skipping chapter by chapter.

In general, the quality of the reading and recording is quite good, but it is inconsistent. There are several audio dropouts where the speaker is all but inaudible. On multiple occasions the reading by Mr. Heath seems to have been re-recorded by another reader because the tonality and timbre of the voice is quite different.
On the one hand, I have no doubt that it is difficult to produce a 75 hour recording for which the sound quality is consistent throughout. Nor can I cannot recommend an audio Bible of superior recording quality, though I felt that the recording by Max McLean was more consistent.
On the other hand, I have listened to quite a few audio book series, and have never heard any with as many consistency problems as the audio Bible. I definitely find the recording quality to be distracting and sub-par for an audio book, though I suppose it's possible that I simply have a bad copy.
Pro: This is a great recording; Well read, not overly dramatized, no music if music in the background isn't your thing and read at a nice steady pace not too slow, not too fast. The gentleman reading has a great voice as well, download esv audio bible mp3 files.
Con: One thing that would help is an index page. It is difficult to move from book to book by scrolling each file. Overall: All in all, the best I have used so far. This is one of the most well read, if not the most well read audio Bible I've found. The reader is neither dramatic nor bland, but captures the mood of the text without being distracting. I love it!
